WELLNESS - CHECK program was developed as part of a research project carried out by Dr. Seema Mehrotra as the Principal Investigator and funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi. Dr. Seema Mehrotra currently serves as Professor of Clinical Psychology and In Charge of Positive Psychology Unit at the Department of Clinical Psychology at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, NIMHANS, Bangalore.

Dr. Seema also runs a positive mental health clinic called FLOURISH at the NIMHANS Center for Well Being. She has developed preventive and promotive intervention program modules for young adults in the community. She has acted as primary supervisor of research at M Phil and PhD levels for more than two dozen scholars and has led research projects funded by ICMR, ICSSR and CSIR and has published papers in national and international peer reviewed, indexed journals and authored chapters in books. Her areas of research include mental health promotion, application of positive psychology using a public health framework and digital interventions for mental health.

Dr. Jyotsna Agrawal, her colleague in the Positive Psychology Unit, and Assistant Professor at the Department of Clinical Psychology was involved in the initial phase of this project in supporting the development of Wellness - Check Program.

Dr. Neha Swami worked as the Research Staff for this Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) funded project and provided valuable support in the development and deployment of Wellness-Check web and mobile based applications.

The Wellness Check team is provided technology assistance by its collaborators Professor T. K. Srikanth at the E-Health Research Center of the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIIT-B) and his technology team.
